Ray Allen is easily one of the classiest guys in the NBA. So it's no surprise that the Celtics star made a child's dream come true.

In September, Allen was present when Extreme Makeover Home Edition came to Springfield to build a new home for the Walker family.

When eight year old Charles Walker saw his Boston sports themed bedroom unveiled on the show, little did he know his favorite NBA star would be there. Allen showed up to shoot some hoops, making it an unforgettable moment for Charles.

Unfortunately, due to the NBA lockout, the scene with Allen hanging out with Charles was never aired. When the NBA lockout began in July, TV shows could not feature an NBA player or league-licensed products, even if they had permission before the lockout, according to the New York Times.

Allen himself was disappointed that his special moment with Charles wasn't seen.

"It wasn't about me being on TV; I didn't care about that," Allen said in a phone interview. "The first thing I thought of was how devastated this young kid Charles was going to be, when he sits down with whole town of Springfield and they don't show the human side of his story and his emotions and having his favorite player sitting in his room. I'm sure he told everybody in school that I was there."

You can add Allen's visit with Charles Walker to the list of why he's the classiest guy in the NBA.

Celtics contact Reggie Evans

The Celtics are looking to improve defensively in the paint. According to Boston.com, the Celtics have contacted free-agent Reggie Evans who's known for his defensive skills.

Unfortunately, he's also know for being injury-prone in the past two seasons.

Evans has been limited to 58 games over the past two years because of injuries to each foot, both sustained against the Celtics. He was able to return last season after missing 2 1/2 months with a broken right foot, averaging nearly 11 rebounds per game in 15 games.

Undrafted Gilbert Brown to join camp

Gilbert Brown wasn't taken in the NBA draft, but the shooting guard from Pittsburgh is getting his shot. Brown, who averaged 11.3 points per game during his senior year at Pitt, will join the Celtics when training camp opens on Friday, according to ESPN Boston.

Brown played in Germany during the lockout, but he has every intention of making the Celtics roster.

"With so much uncertainty all around the league, Gilbert is excited for his opportunity to be with Celtics and fully expects to make the team and be a contributor," said his agent Terrance Doyle.
